American Waste Removal, Inc. (AWR) is a family owned & operated grease trap service company located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  It was started in 1974 with Greg Jarvies assuming ownership in 1981.  In 1988, the State of New Mexico closed the last remaining legal grease disposal facility, the Albuquerque landfill, and the search for recycling alternatives began.  Since grease is a relatively high energy material, AWR decided to begin concentrating and purifying it using a proprietary process.  The resulting product, known as refined ‘trap grease' or ‘brown grease' may be used as a renewable biofuel via direct combustion in boilers or industrial burners, a precursor for other biofuels such as biodiesel or hydrogen, a base material for cosmetics, soaps, & candles, or a feed amendment for certain animals.  It can even be used as a dust control agent on construction sites.

To this day, AWR strives to find better and more efficient ways to serve its customers and their communities. We serve all of New Mexico and Southern Colorado.  Don't wait for your kitchen drains to back up!  Call Greg or Kelly Jarvies today to set up a regular maintenance schedule for your grease trap.
